Do you need Wisconsin ATV/OHM education?

For ATV riders — You must be at least 12 years old and were born after Dec. 31, 1987.

For OHM riders — You must be at least 12 years old and were born after Dec. 31, 1997.

Do you need the OHM Short Course?

If you have already completed the ATV safety course but want to ride an Off-Highway Motorcycle on public trails, you must first complete this free OHM Short Course.

You may only take this course if you already have ATV certification. If you are not currently ATV-certified, you will need to take the FULL Wisconsin ATV/OHM Online Course.

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Requirements

Important! You'll need your WI DNR Customer Number to complete the course. To get this number call the WI DNR at 1-888-936-7463, visit the DNR website, or visit a DNR service center.

There is no minimum age requirement to take this online course. However, your certificate will not be valid until you turn 12 years old.

You do not have to be a resident of Wisconsin to take this online course.

How Do I Get My State ATV/OHM License?

ATV/OHM education is currently required in many states. An approved ATV/OHM safety course is required to comply with the laws and regulations in those jurisdictions.
