Meeting OHM Helmet and Eye Protection Requirements

Helmet

  • DOT–approved ATV or motorcycle helmets are required for all OHM operators and passengers under age 18. Bicycle helmets do not meet this requirement.
  • For more information on helmet requirements and possible exceptions, refer to the Wisconsin Off-Highway Vehicle Regulations pamphlet.

Eye Protection

Although eye protection is not required by law, it is recommended that the OHM operator and any passengers wear safety goggles, glasses, or a protective face shield attached to an approved helmet.
