OHV Trail Signs

Route Signs and Arrows

 
ATV Route Sign
ATV Route Sign
Purpose:
Indicates that a highway or road is designated for use by ATV operators
Colors: Green and white
Side arrow
Directional Arrows
Purpose:
At the point where an OHV operator leaves a trail, indicates the direction the operator may proceed on the highway or road
Colors: Green and white
Diagonal arrows: both waysSplit arrow: Up and diagonalUp arrowDiagonal up arrow Side arrows: both ways Right angle arrows: Up and to the side

Caution and Hazard Signs

 

Stop AheadStop Ahead

Stop Ahead Sign
Purpose:
Advise OHV operators that they are approaching a stop sign
Colors: Yellow with black letters or symbol
Bridge Ahead
Bridge Ahead Sign
Purpose:
Advise OHV operators that they are approaching a bridge
Colors: Yellow with black letters or symbols
Intersection Ahead
Road Intersection Sign
Purpose:
Advise OHV operators that they are approaching an intersection
Colors: Yellow with black letters or symbols
Caution Ahead
Caution Ahead Sign
Purpose:
Advise OHV operators to proceed with caution at a reduced speed
Colors: Yellow with black letters or symbols
Winding Road Ahead
Winding Road Sign
Purpose:
Advise OHV operators that they are approaching a winding road
Colors: Yellow with black letters or symbols
Chevron: Turn Ahead
Chevron
Purpose: Provides additional guidance to the rider in a sharp turn
Colors: Yellow with black symbol
Culvert Markers
Hazard or Culvert Markers
Purpose: Identifiy a fixed object at the side of the trail. Used anytime the fixed object, such as bridge railings, narrows the normal width of the trail. The stripes slope down towards the trail.
Colors: Yellow and black

Trail Markers

 
Blazer: Designated OHV trail
Blazer
Purpose: Informs riders that they are on a designated OHV trail
Colors: Orange
Directional Blazer
Directional Arrow
Purpose: Informs riders that the trail ahead makes significant changes in direction
Colors: Orange with black border and arrow

Regulatory Signs

Purpose:
Instructs riders to bring their OHV to a complete stop before proceeding with caution
Colors: Red and white
Yield sign
Yield Sign
Purpose:
Instructs riders at intersection to yield the right-of-way to vehicles traveling on the other trails
Colors: Red and white
Do Not Enter
Do Not Enter Sign
Purpose:
Instructs riders not to enter a particular road or trail. Typically used in con-junction with one-way trails
Colors: Red and white
Stay on Trail
Stay on Trail Sign
Purpose:
Reminds riders of the importance of staying on the designated trail
Colors: Black and white
Restricted Area: No ATVs Allowed
Restricted Area Sign
Purpose:
Identifies areas where ATVs are not allowed
Colors: Black legend with red slash and circle
Barrier Markers
Barrier Markers
Purpose: Indicate gated path or that road is closed to off-roading
Colors: Red and white
